Cronus Zen Troubleshooting
By Zenner team
Most Cronus Zen install problems come from browser WebUSB limits, popup blocking, charge-only cables, firmware issues, or another app already using the device.

Fixes To Try First
- 1Use Chrome, Edge, Brave, or another Chromium browser.
- 2Allow popups for Zenner so the installer can open.
- 3Try a different data-capable USB cable and avoid USB hubs.
- 4Close Zen Studio or any other tab that may already be connected to the Zen.
- 5Reconnect the device, refresh the installer popup, and try again.
Compile Failed
Generated NBA scripts should compile automatically. Static scripts can fail if a source file has a syntax issue, unsupported character, or menu change that the compiler rejects.
Slot Read Timeout
Zenner pauses live stream communication before reads and writes, then waits briefly before running device operations. If a specific slot still cannot be read, the installer aborts instead of risking your other slots.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the installer say no device selected?
The browser did not receive a Cronus Zen selection from the WebUSB prompt. Reopen the popup and choose the device.
Why did a slot read time out?
The device did not return the expected read response in time. Reconnect the Zen and try again before flashing.
Why does Chrome need a popup?
The device connection must happen in a top-level browser context for WebUSB.
